Tsar Nicolas and his entire family was murdered by the "red" Russians were Communists. Nicolas represented a monarchy and the Communists believed everyone should work and benefit of equals. The exception was that anyone who disagreed was exterminated or treated as a traitor. First son of my grandfather had come of age to be in the National Guard in Finland. The Russian Red came to my grandparents' farm to tell him that he would serve under them for the revolution in the Red Army. His father, my grandfather had served under the Czar Nicolas in the army white. When he refused to serve with them, they took him outside and killed him in front of the family. My grandparents fled to the United States shortly after this in fear of their other son would be killed.
