how to remove coating from eyeglasses?

my glasses are about 2 years old, and the coating started to wear off, and it looks really ugly.

I was told to use toothpaste, and it became worse. Now I can't almost see through them.

Then I bought Armour Etch. It kind of look better [shiny and all that], but the part that the coating had wear of is still very visible.:(

toothpaste is a very bad thing to use on eyeglasses. what you need to do to clean them very well is get some woolite (clothes detergent) pour a half cap full in a some container like a plastic square glad container with water about 3 quarters full mix it up. dip your finger and thumb in it and rub the lens on both sides with the mix. rinse under warm water ( warmer then luke) not really hot but very warm. then dry by patting them with a kitchen paper towel the heat from the rinse will dry them fast and the mix is non residue making. its also not abrasive like toothpaste.
