Book Plates
How many people actually saw the original Book of Mormon Plates? ?
I am a member of the church. According to the records we have, how many people claimed to have seen the original plates? References please.
I have a copy of the Book of Mormon, I know there are at least 12: the 3 witnesses, the 8 witnesses, and Joseph Smith.
Also to those of you who said that they denied it, get your facts straight, not one denied right up until their deaths. Even those who left the church—which in my opinion adds strength to their testimonies, why would they have any reason to continue propagating a lie after they were not a part of the church?
I should have worded my question differently, I wanted to see who saw the plates OTHER than the 12 official witnesses.
At least 12, including Joesph Smith.
Edit: According to my first source, there could have been up to 13 additional witnesses of the plates. If all seen the plates, the total number of witnesses would be 25.
