Are cats attracted to certain areas when they are about to die?
When my last kitty died :'( she went into our basement(she rarely ever went down there) and laid next to the sump pump hole thing. I would pick her up and bring her back upstairs, but she would crawl back downstairs to the same spot. Are cats attracted to certain spots when they are about to die?
yes. any dark, quite, lonely, small place. in a home that can be hard to find, so many times, they settle for a basement because nobody is down there. also, if she had a fever, the floor would have been cold and there would be a cooling draft coming from the sump pump hole.
i doubt they know they are dying, they just know they are weak and sick, unable to avoid a predator, instinct tells them to hide and sleep.
