Lactating while not pregnant or nursing?

For starters, I am not pregnant, nor do I plan to be, nor have I been. So I was rather surprised when doing my self- check last night when some off-white drops came out of my right nip. Its only the right side, and not centered, but its still enough to make me wonder what's up with this. I cannot afford to go to the doctor at this time, but am concerned enough to want to know more. Does any one know why this is happening? Is it normal? Or should I start saving $$ to go to the doctor?

It is not normal but it can happen. If you are really lactating - it called "hyperprolactineamia" which means you are producing abnormal high level of hormone prolactin which is responsible for lactation. It has nothing to do with pregnancy. This disease can be treated but you need to go to doctor.
