The flower garden has the shape of a right triangle. 34 feet of perennial border forms the hypotenuse of the triangle, and one leg is 14 feet longer than the other leg. What are the lengths of the legs?

hyp = 34 feet
other sides = x and x + 14
(x and x + 14) ^2 = 34^2
x^2 + x^2 + 28x + 196 = 1156
2 x^2 + 28x + 196 -1156 = 0
2 x^2 +28x -960 = 0
From quadratic formula we see x = 16 and x = -30 (Let's take the positive answer)
One leg = 16 the other = 30 hyp =34

16^2 + 30^2 = 34^2
256 + 900 = 1156
