Squares Embossing
Christmas table decoration?
I'm having a Christmas party and the table will be buffet style, but elegant. Flowers will be long pine branches with magnolia leaves and white roses. The dishes are decorated with etched glass with gold and golden plum and aqua colors. I would like pose a kind of cloth on the table to cover the different levels that I am creating, but the velvet is not only costly, but does not seem practical. All suggestions on what I can do instead? Something to hide (tupperware or other) things I'll use as levels. I thought a shot of petals flowers and square mirror on the fabric too. Suggestions? Thank you
I think you're on the right track with the fabric, but it need not be velvet. go to your local fabric store and check everything they have. I would say a taffeta (it has a brightness, drapes well, and is mainly used for coatings or layered cloth dress) ask the clerk to give samples of colors you might be interested in, and bring them home to compare them with your meals. go with two or three colors to add interest.
